Ukrainian heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk recently visited the front lines of the Ukrainian army to support the forward soldiers against Russian invaders. Usyk stated that he was less than one kilometer from the enemy’s position and saw them through binoculars. While he did not want to use the visit for PR, the military took a picture with him and posted it on social media. Usyk expressed his desire to live in a successful Ukraine and help improve the country’s economic conditions, schools, hospitals, and sports grounds.

Oleksandr Usik said that he went to support the forward Ukrainian soldiers and was less than one kilometer from the enemy’s position.

“I was in the front line. There is already an enemy at 900 meters. I saw them through binoculars. Yes, I go to our fighters in the front line.

I was with them, living in the trenches. It’s just support for this guy. I don’t advertise it anywhere, I don’t post photos and videos on social networks.”

Usyk said that he did not want to advertise the event and PR at the expense of the situation, but the military took a picture with him and posted the picture on his own social network.

“People may know where I am because the army posted the picture itself on the Internet. But for me it’s not PR, it’s part of life.

why? Because those who defended our country at the front gave me the opportunity to sit now in this place.

Our champion assures that he will not be a deputy, but he intends to stay in a successful Ukraine in every respect.

“I will not go into politics. But I want to live in my own country. In an independent country that will develop, where economic conditions will begin to improve, where children will grow up, schools, hospitals, and sports grounds will be built.

This is my job. Everyone has their own front,” Usyk said in an interview with the Polish edition of Przegląd Sportowy.
