Member of Parliament and Olympic champion Zhan Beleniuk published the response of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine to the request of the UAF for the entry of Ukrainian footballers to Euro 2024.
Earlier, information appeared that the Ministry of Youth and Sports will ban Ukrainian athletes from participating in international competitions, where athletes from the Russian Federation or Belarus also compete. If athletes do not comply, the federation they represent may be stripped of their national status.

The national football team of Ukraine, which is participating in the selection for Euro 2024, also falls under this criterion. Along with our team, the national team of Belarus also played there, however, in a different group. Over time, it became known that this ban will not affect the national football team of Ukraine.
Zhan Beleniuk wanted to get an answer from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, because of which the players were allowed to violate the ban, but in response he received a letter from the state body, addressed to the UAF.
“I have no information regarding the text of UAF’s appeal to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, but we can only guess what strong arguments UAF gave that the National Football Team will participate in the selection for EURO 2024 and the Ministry took this information into account, allowing them to participate in the competition, breaking his own order (interestingly, based on the text of the letter, this is already the second answer (I can only assume that the first answer is a refusal).
Indeed, in the response of the Ministry of Youth and Sports published by Belenyuk to UAF, it is said that this letter is to replace the April 20 letter on the consideration of the appeal.
“The Ministry also stated in its letter that the main thing is that there should not be a face-to-face meeting between the Ukrainian and Belarusian forces, most likely knowing for sure that this will not happen. This is a clear example of double standards,” wrote Beleniuk on his Telegram channel.
Remember that the next qualifying match for Euro 2024, the Ukrainian team will play on June 16 with North Macedonia and on June 19 with Malta.
