Shakhtar Donetsk’s owner, Rinat Akhmetov, has decided to end the club’s cooperation with head coach Igor Jovicevich and his staff. The reasons for this move are unknown, but the club is already considering new candidates, including several coaches from Europe and Zari coach Patrick Van Leeuwen. Jovicevich, who took over Shakhtar at the start of last season, led the team to the championship of Ukraine, third place in the Champions League group stage, and the 1/8 finals of the Europa League. However, he left his previous club, Dnepr-1, with a scandal in 2020.

According to TaToTake, the club’s management is already looking for a potential replacement for the specialist. Several coaches from Europe are considered options, as is Zari coach Patrick Van Leeuwen.
