Famous sports journalist, Mikhail Spivakovsky, shared an interesting story about the early days of Kakha Kaladze’s transfer from Georgia to Dynamo Kiev. The Belarusian midfielder, Alexander Khatskevich, who had been playing for the team for one and a half years, helped Kaladze adapt to the new surroundings. Spivakovsky recounted how Kaladze’s poor grasp of Russian led to a hilarious misunderstanding between the two players. The Georgian defender asked Khatskevich, “Sasha, are you alone tonight?” which almost made his teammate swerve the car. Spivakovsky shared this anecdote on the Fantastic Football YouTube channel.

Kakha Kaladze moved from Dynamo Tbilisi to Kiev in January 1998. Belarusian midfielder Alexander Khatskevich, who at that time had been playing for the White-Blues for one and a half years, decided to help the Georgian footballer adapt to the team.

The famous Ukrainian journalist Mikhail Spivakovsky recalls an interesting story that happened to Kaladze and Khatskevich in the first days after the evacuation of Georgians.

“When Kaladze came to Dynamo, it was the first or second day. Khatskevich decided to take patronage over him. He drove her by car from Koncha-Zaspa to the city. Kaladze put his hand on his knee and said: “Sasha, are you alone tonight?” Spivakovsky said.

Mikhail told what was on the Georgian defender’s mind when he spoke to Khatskevich.

“Khatskevich almost flew into the ditch. Then it turned out that Kaladze spoke Russian very badly. He wanted to ask: “Do you have plans for the night?” Spivakovsky added to the Fantastic Football YouTube channel.
