Sergei Rebrov, the newly appointed head coach of Ukraine’s national football team, will be assisted by five experts, including Vicente Gomez and Alberto Bosch, according to the Football Association of Ukraine. Rustam Khudzhamov has been named as the team’s goalkeeping coach, while Javier Luruenya Lobo will serve as a specialist in general physical fitness. The agreement between Rebrov and his coaching team runs until the Euro 2024 cycle, with the option to extend it for two more cycles. The team will begin gathering on June 8 in Bremen, Germany, ahead of friendly matches against Germany, North Macedonia, and Malta.

Sergei Rebrov will be assisted by five experts at once in the national team of Ukraine – Ukrainian mentors will officially announce their names tomorrow.


The Football Association of Ukraine has announced that on June 7 our team will have a new head coach, Sergei Rebrov. According to the TaToTake telegram channel, Rebrov has finally decided on his coaching staff.

It was previously known that it will include Vicente Gomez, Alberto Bosch and Gleb Platov. Now two more names have been added to this list – Rustam Khudzhamov and Javier Luruenya Lobo.

Sergei Rebrov’s coaching staff in the Ukrainian national team:

  • Vicente Gomez (senior assistant);
  • Alberto Bosch (assistant);
  • Gleb Platov (assistant);
  • Rustam Khudzhamov (goalkeeping coach);
  • Javier Luruenha Lobo (specialist in general physical fitness).

The term of the agreement for the work of Rebrov’s coaching staff is designed for the Euro 2024 cycle plus the 2026 World Cup cycle. With the agreement of both parties, it can be extended for two more cycles – up to and including the 2030 World Cup.

  • At the same time, Platov will at the same time retain the post of technical director of Dnepr-1.
  • Khudzhamov works as a goalkeeper coach in Polesie until the summer of 2022.
  • Javier Luruenha Lobo is Shakhtar’s staff physiotherapist.

Our team gathering will start on June 8 in Bremen, after which the blue-yellow will have a friendly against Germany on June 12. On June 16 and 19, Ukraine will play their matches with North Macedonia and Malta as part of the selection for Euro 2024.
