Ukrainian Premier League newcomers Zhytomyr Polissya have signed defender Sergei Chobotenko on a three-year contract. The 26-year-old Chobotenko is a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk but was unable to make his debut in the first team. Previously, he played for Mariupol and Kolos. The transfer fee for Chobotenko is estimated at €600,000 by analysis portal Transfermarkt. General Director of Polissya, Vladimir Zagursky, is optimistic about the transfer and believes that Chobotenko has not yet reached the peak of his career and can become a full player of the Ukrainian national team.

Polissya announced the conclusion of an agreement with experienced Ukrainian defender Sergei Chobotenko. The contract with the player was signed for three years.
Chobotenko joined the new team as a free agent, as his contract with Kolos expired at the end of June this year.

General Director of Polesye Vladimir Zagursky commented on the transfer of former team player Kovalevsky.
“We are pleased to welcome Sergei Chobotenko to the team. He is at the same time an experienced player, but at the same time, we believe he has not yet reached the peak of his career. We strongly believe that in the Polesye football club he will be a full player of the Ukrainian national team,” the club’s press service quoted the official as saying.

Previously it was reported that Polissya issued the first transfer for next season.
