Blogger Viktor Vatsko has singled out Dmitry Krivushkin as the worst Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) referee for the 2022/23 season in his author project On Air. Krivushkin was involved in several controversies, including not noticing 12 players on the field during a match and awarding three “left” penalties. Vatsko questioned why Krivushkin was still working at UPL matches and suggested that those in power had a say in his employment. This article highlights the importance of fair play in sports and the need for accountability in refereeing.

Blogger and commentator Viktor Vatsko in the new issue of the author project On Air touches on the topic of judgment in the UPL following the results of the 2022/23 season.

Vatsko puts Dmitry Krivushkin in the first place among the worst UPL referees, who was at the center of several scandals last season.

“The number of mistakes made by Krivushkin is surprising. Why is he still working at UPL matches – I can’t find an explanation for myself, except one. Beneficial to those in power, the staff decided on the UAF. I can’t explain it any other way,” Vacko said.

Remember that Krivushkin in the 2022/23 season was noted for some embarrassing results:

  • I did not notice 12 players on the field at the same time in the match between Karpaty and Prykarpattya;
  • In November 2022, he awarded three “left” penalties in a match between Alexandria and Kolos;
  • Didn’t red card Dnipro-1 midfielder Domingo Blanco for an aggressive foul on Dynamo player Vitaliy Buyalsky.
