Veres midfielder Andriy Bliznichenko has expressed his dream of being called up to the Ukrainian national team following his recent success with the Rivne team. Bliznichenko, who joined Veres from Ingulets during the winter transfer window, has become one of the team’s leaders and has scored five goals in 15 games in the 2022/23 season. The 28-year-old believes that anyone who shows themselves in the field can be called up to the national team, regardless of which club they play for. Bliznichenko previously played for the Ukrainian U-21 team, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 17 matches.

Andrey Bliznichenko moved to Veres from Ingulets during the winter transfer window as a free agent and became one of the leaders of the Rivne team.
The midfielder said that he is waiting for a call-up to the Ukrainian national team after his success against Veres.
“This is a big dream. If I work hard and show a great game on the field. Now there is no such thing as only Dynamo or Shakhtar called for the national team. Now everyone who shows himself is called.
So I don’t think it’s a problem at all. If you score goals, give and play, everything is possible,” said Bliznichenko on the club’s YouTube channel.
- The 28-year-old Bliznichenko played 15 games for Veres in the 2022/23 season, scoring five goals and becoming Rivne’s top scorer in the Ukrainian championship. Midfielder Dmitry Klets has the same number of goals.
- Veres is 13th in the standings and will play in the play-offs for a place in the UPL with Zaporozhye Metalurh. The fights will take place on June 10 and 14.
- Bliznichenko has experience playing in the youth team of Ukraine (U-21) in 2014 and 2015. Andrei played 17 matches, scored two goals and provided the same number of assists.
