Former Ukrainian national team and Kyiv Dynamo midfielder Oleksandr Aliev has shared his opinion about Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk and Ukraine’s youth team. Mudryk has been sidelined due to a muscle injury and Aliev believes that if he is healthy, coach Ruslan Rotan will definitely give him a chance to play. However, Aliev does not consider Mudryk to be a star or leader of the national team. He believes that Mudryk needs to prove himself by showcasing high-quality performances at a high level. Aliev also mentioned that he sees Rotan as the most important link in the current youth team. This Sunday, Ukraine’s U-21 team will face France in the quarter-finals of Euro 2023.

Tomorrow, Sunday, July 2, the Ukrainian U-21 team will play a match with their peers from France in the quarter-finals of Euro 2023.

The star player of Ruslan Rotan’s team, Mikhail Mudrik, has yet to enter the field in the Euro 2023 match due to a muscle injury.
Alexander Aliyev is confident that if Mudrik is healthy, Rotan will definitely give him a chance.
“Ruslan Rotan is not his own enemy, and if Mudrik is healthy and ready to play, he will release him on the field from the first minute of the game. However, no one knows Mudrik’s feelings. Only people who are in the national team structure.”

Aliyev also admitted. What does not consider Mudrik as a star and leader of the youth team of Ukraine.
“And at the expense of Mudrik’s fame, I don’t consider him a star. You made him a star, first of all, a journalist and journalist. Mudrik is not a star and not the leader of the national team.
He came to Chelsea, so what? Is he playing? No, he didn’t. That’s when he started playing in the London club, started to show high-quality game at a high level, and then it will be possible to call him a star. Not now. Now he’s just a football player.”
The former Dynamo midfielder said that he does not see a leader in the current youth team who can lead. According to the former football player, the most important link in Ukraine U-21 is its head coach.
“In the current youth team, I will not choose anyone, except Ruslan Rotan. I think he is a very good coach,” said Aliyev in a comment to SportNews.

- In the semi-finals of Euro 2023, the Ukrainian team will meet the winner of the Spain-Switzerland pair.
- The finals of the tournament will be held on July 8 in Batumi.
