Peritsa Ognenovich, the acting head coach of Metallist, has left the Ukrainian football team at the end of the season due to family circumstances. Despite the club’s management wishing to keep the Serbian specialist, Ognenovic has announced that he will be leaving. Metalist finished 15th in the standings at the end of the UPL 2022/23 season, with only one win out of the 15 matches played under Ognenovich’s leadership.
Metallist acting head coach Peritsa Ognenovich left the Kharkiv team at the end of the season, citing family circumstances.
Metalist today announced through its sources that Ognenovic will leave the team, despite the club’s management plans to keep the Serbian specialist.

Ognenovich in his speech congratulated the return of the elite football team of Ukraine.
“I am very happy that the team spoke in support of my efforts to continue. But, unfortunately, the situation has developed in such a way that I cannot continue cooperation with Metalist,” the club’s press service quoted Ognenovich as saying.
- Metalist under the leadership of Ognenovich played 15 matches, where he won only once, drew three times and suffered 11 losses.
- At the end of the UPL 2022/23 season, Metalist finished 15th in the standings, having 22 points after 30 matches.
