Four Barcelona players are reportedly against the return of Lionel Messi to the Catalan club, according to Spanish website El Nacional. Messi announced his move to American Inter Miami on a free agent status on June 7, but Barcelona’s President Joan Laporta made an attempt to negotiate with the legendary footballer about his return to the club where he played from 2005 to 2021. However, Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Marc-André ter Stegen, and Ousmane Dembele are all said to be against the idea for various reasons, including fear of a more secondary role in the team and a past unfriendly relationship with Messi.

However, four famous Barcelona players are against the idea:
- Robert Lewandowski;
- Ansu Fati;
- Marc-André ter Stegen;
- Ousmane Dembele.
The journalist of the Spanish website El Nacional, Iñaki Maresca, gives reasons why each of these players does not want Messi to return to Barcelona.
“In the case of Lewandowski and Fati, the Argentine’s return means for them a more secondary role in the team, which the Polish striker does not want. As for Ter Stegen, he has never had a very friendly relationship with Messi.
In the case of Dembele, he did not forgive the actions of Messi, who asked the management to leave Ousmane from the club,” wrote Mareska.
