The former head coach of Metalist Myron Markevich spoke about the current fate of the Kharkiv club, which has financial problems.
This season, Metalist is fighting to keep his residence permit in the Premier League. And this is not the only problem of the Kharkov club.
The metal worker has a difficult financial situation and it is no secret to anyone that the players have not received salaries for several months, and the club president Alexander Yaroslavsky is not involved in football now.
Myron Markevich assesses the prospects of the Kharkiv club in the fight to maintain a place in the Premier League.
“Of course, I don’t want my original Metalist team to fly out. However, it’s hard to say what will happen next. Probably, Yaroslavsky has moved on from football. It’s good that we won the last match against FC Lviv (1:0) and at least there is hope,” said Markevich in an exclusive interview FanDay.net.
Before the start of the war, the convoy of President Metalist shot a man to death in the Kharkiv region, and the next day Yaroslavsky immediately left Ukraine, after which he appeared only once in his native country.

In mid-July last year, the police confirmed Yaroslavsky’s arrival in Ukraine. According to Ukrainskaya Pravda, the police carried out priority investigative actions with him in the territory of border checkpoints in the Transcarpathian region.
In addition, the person involved was served with a summons to be summoned to the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine for further investigative actions and warned of criminal liability for the failure of the investigator to appear.
Currently, Metalist is in second last place, 15th place in the UPL standings, gaining 22 points in 25 games.
