Football expert Oleg Fedorchuk has given his thoughts on Myron Markevich’s appointment as the new head coach of Lviv Carpathians. Fedorchuk believes that Markevich needs to focus on strengthening the team’s defense, starting with the goalkeeper, as well as addressing the unstable middle zone and support. He suggests that at least five or six new players need to be bought into the first team. Fedorchuk also named players who could potentially join the Lviv team, depending on who will come out of the Ukrainian Premier League. Markevich has previously been the head coach of Karpaty four times.

Football expert and coach Oleg Fedorchuk spoke about the appointment of the famous Ukrainian expert Myron Markevich as the head coach of Lviv Carpathians.

Oleg Fedorchuk shares his opinion about the position that Myron Markevich needs to strengthen in the Carpathians.

“First of all, we need to strengthen the defense team, starting with the goalkeeper. Also in the Carpathians there is a very unstable middle zone and support. Markevich has something to think about. I think at least five or six players need to be bought into the first team.

The expert also named the players who could go to the Lviv team.

“Everything depends on who will come out of UPL. The looting of FC Lviv is already underway. There are good players in Metalist, the same Kartushov, Pryadun, Mizyuk and several others who have experience playing in the First League,” said Fedorchuk in an interview with the Ukrainian Football website.

  • Markevich previously came to the post of head coach of Karpaty four times (1992-1995, 1996-1999, 2001-2002, 2003-2004).
  • The 72-year-old coach led Lviv to the bronze medal of the Ukrainian Championship in the 1997/98 season, and also reached the final of the Ukrainian Cup twice (1993, 1999).

Remember that at the end of the season, Karpaty took fifth place in the First League and could not improve in class.
