The Ligue 2 match between Bordeaux, featuring Ukrainian midfielder Daniil Ignatenko, and Rodez ended in controversy as the game was suspended and eventually cancelled due to an incident with fans. A Bordeaux supporter shoved a Rodez footballer as he celebrated scoring a goal, prompting the referee to postpone the match. The decision regarding the outcome of the match will be made on June 5, but there is a possibility that Bordeaux will be counted for a lost defeat, which could mean they remain in Ligue 2. Ignatenko played from the first minute in the match.

The match of the 38th round of the French Ligue 2 between Bordeaux, played by Ukrainian midfielder Daniil Ignatenko, and Rodez ended in scandal.


The Bordeaux-Rodez match was suspended and not completed due to an incident with fans. The visitors opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the match thanks to a goal by Luca Buades. Afterwards, a Bordeaux fan shoved the Rodez footballer as he celebrated with his partner a goal.

As a result, the referee postponed the match. After that, the judge decided to cancel the meeting.

Therefore, Bordeaux could face a technical defeat. The decision regarding this fight will be made on June 5.

Note that the legionnaire of the Ukrainian Girondins Daniil Ignatenko played in the match with Rodez from the first minute.

Bordeaux had to win against Rodez to qualify for Ligue 1. The Girondins are currently in third place with 69 points, three behind the second-placed Mets.

There is a possibility that Bordeaux will finally be counted for the lost defeat, and therefore Ignatenko’s team will remain in Ligue 2, where only the first two teams will go to the elite level of the French championship. Le Havre became the second division winner.
