Shakhtar winger Marjan Shved, 25, after returning to the field, is already thinking about the possibility of playing for the Ukrainian national team again.
Marjan Shved, despite already playing for Shakhtar, is yet to fully recover from a groin muscle injury, which ruled him out from October 2022 to April 2023.
“The recovery process is still ongoing. It hurts after the game and at times during the game. But it has to go through, work and carry out procedures. But it’s getting better, better every day. You need to pump the adductor muscle so that it hurts less.
According to the football player, his injuries are difficult to treat, but there is progress in this direction.
“It just hurt me there. At first it was like my leg was torn there, it happened in a different way, a different pain. I can’t explain to the doctor, but it’s good every day is better.”

The Swede also answered questions about what it would take to return to the Ukrainian national team.
“If I score, they will call me. You have to give your best in every match, win and perform effective actions – then they will pay attention to you. Of course every footballer wants to get into the national team, I am no exception. Will work”.
In the context of being called up to the national team, the footballer trusts the coach’s decision, and he himself wants to help the team win the UPL gold medal.
“Everything will be determined by the coaching line. My job is to work in every game and help the club become champions,” Shved said in a comment to VZBIRNA’s YouTube channel.
- Shved has played 12 games for Shakhtar this season, scoring four goals and making one assist.
- The last time the winger was called to the camp of the Ukrainian national team was for a friendly match with Estonia (1: 0), which took place on November 14, 2019. Then the player entered as a substitute and spent 24 minutes on the field. In total, Shved had two matches for blue-yellow.
