Mircea Lucescu, the head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, is determined to continue his work with the team despite undergoing surgery recently. The 77-year-old Romanian specialist’s son, Razvan Lucescu, confirmed that his father is healthy and eager to continue coaching. Dynamo Kyiv finished fourth in the UPL standings for the 2022/23 season and will compete in the Conference League for the first time in the upcoming European Cup season. Lucescu has been working with the Ukrainian team since July 2020.

The experienced Romanian specialist intends to continue his work with Dynamo Kyiv. This information was provided by Mr. Razvan’s son.

“He is healthy, he underwent surgery. He wants to stay in line, though I don’t know how he can do that. We met for the first time in seven or eight months.

I asked him what he wanted to do. He answered that he wanted to continue, this is how he felt that he lived,” said Razvan Lucescu in an interview with Digi Sport.

  • Dynamo finished fourth in the UPL standings for the 2023/23 season and will play in the Conference League for the first time this coming European Cup season.
  • On May 1, Lucescu underwent surgery on the hip joint, for which he was on sick leave. In the last eight games of the season, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy was Dynamo’s acting head coach.
  • The Romanian specialist has been working with the capital’s giants since July 2020.
