Former Dynamo coach Alexander Khatskevich discusses the personalities within the team and addresses rumors of a conflict with Nikolai Shaparenko. Khatskevich praises Vitaliy Buyalsky and believes that goalkeeper Georgy Bushchan’s health has prevented him from reaching his full potential. He also highlights the success of defender Vitaliy Mykolenko, who recently moved to Everton. Khatskevich denies any conflict with Shaparenko, stating that the press created the rumors. He also mentions the qualities of Denis Popov as a defender. Khatskevich led Dynamo from 2017-2019 and won the Ukrainian Super Cup twice during his tenure.

Oleksandr Khatskevich singled out Vitaliy Buyalsky in the Dynamo squad, and also said that Dynamo goalkeeper Georgy Bushchan has been prevented from playing at a higher level by his health.

“If it wasn’t for his injury, his career would have been brighter.”

The expert also selected defender Vitaliy Mykolenko, who in January 2022 moved to Everton for 23.5 million euros.

“We took Mikolenko from the youth team immediately to the first team. He competed with world runner-up Josip Pivarich and sold for quite a lot.”

According to Khatskevich, his conflict with midfielder Nikolai Shaparenko was created by the press.

“Kolya Shaparenko, some conflicts were created there. He is an ambitious young man. He said that he can play ten. I answered that I see him a little lower. He is now playing in this position. I think he understands that everything -everything has its time.”

Separately stopped Khatskevich and defensive personality Denis Popov.

“Denis is also good, but the need for a central defender in modern football is quite different. He is quite strong, but Shaparenko and Mikolenko stand out more,” said Khatskevich in an interview with Sportarena.

Khatskevich led Dynamo from 2017-2019. and twice won the Ukrainian Super Cup with him.
