Sports journalist Artem Frankov has given his opinion on the performances of Brazilian midfielder Tete, who is owned by Shakhtar Donetsk and played on loan for Leicester in the second half of the 2021/22 season. Tete played 19 games for Lyon in the first part of the season, scoring six goals and making five assists. However, he recorded a lower performance during his time at Leicester, scoring just one goal in 14 appearances. Frankov stated that he considered Tete to be an overrated footballer and suggested that his performances may have been affected by factors such as his teammates and playing style.
Renowned sports journalist Artem Frankov shared his opinion on the performances of Brazilian midfielder Tete, who is owned by Shakhtar and played for Leicester on loan in the second half of the season.
Tete, who is owned by Shakhtar Donetsk, played on loan for Lyon in the first part of the 2022/23 season. The Brazilian midfielder played 19 games for the French side, scoring six goals and making five assists.
In January, the footballer moved on loan to Leicester, but showed a lower performance – 14 fights and one goal scored. Tete’s team left the Premier League at the end of the season.
Ukrainian sports journalist Artem Frankov shared his thoughts on the Brazilian’s performance in England in an exclusive interview with FanDay.net.
“He, if you remember, made his debut very brilliantly. In my opinion, they beat Aston Villa on the road 4:2. He was very good in that match. And that was it, and gone. Here, not the football, not the style. I think that after all, there are more factors of partners and inappropriate styles.
Ordinary players who performed brilliantly in the French championship, they did not lose,” said Frankov.
Frankov stated that he considered Tete to be an overrated footballer.
“So I think all the factors are there little by little. Maybe we overestimate Tete because he played in the Ukrainian championship,” added Frankov.
- Tete, 23, joined Shakhtar Donetsk from Brazil’s Grêmio in February 2019 for €15m and has made 108 appearances for the Pitmen, scoring 31 goals and providing 15 assists.
- The Brazilian midfielder’s contract with the Donetsk club is valid until the end of 2023.
- The authoritative portal Transfermarkt values the player at 25 million euros.
