Corinthians football manager, Alessandro Nunez, has expressed regret over the club’s signing of former Shakhtar, Dynamo, and Ukraine striker Junior Moraes. Moraes, who joined Corinthians as a free agent in March 2020, was suspended from training and first-team matches in May and subsequently went to court to terminate his contract ahead of schedule. Nunez apologized to the team’s fans for the unsuccessful transfer and revealed the reasons behind Moraes’ suspension, stating that he was a coward and a liar. Moraes, who received Ukrainian citizenship in 2019, made 21 appearances for Corinthians and scored one goal.

Brazilian club football manager Alessandro Nunez apologized to the team’s fans for the unsuccessful transfer.
“Regarding this athlete, I must be very frank: I must apologize to Corinthians fans for the unsuccessful signings we made,” Globo quoted Nunez as saying.
Alessandro also gave reasons why Moraes was suspended from Corinthians’ first team.
“Wearing a Corinthians T-shirt requires courage, individuality, and this one, who I don’t want to name, is a coward and, above all, a liar. I’m sorry that the fans saw him in the Corinthians jersey,” said Nunes.
- Moraes, 36, made 21 appearances for Corinthians and scored one goal.
- The striker’s contract with the Brazilian club is valid until the end of this year.
- Junior received Ukrainian citizenship in 2019. The striker played 11 matches, scored one goal and made one assist for the Ukrainian national team.
