Ukrainian footballer Artem Dovbik has extended his contract with Dnepr-1 until June 2025, despite interest from several European clubs. According to Mikhail Spivakovsky, a famous sports journalist, the new agreement is a preparation for Dovbik’s imminent transfer, as his old contract was set to expire at the end of this year. Spivakovsky believes that Dovbik could leave Dnipro-1 for a small amount if he does not sign a new contract with the club, and that Dnipro-1 will be obliged to pay part of the amount received from his transfer to his previous club, Danish Midtjylland.
Famous sports journalist Mikhail Spivakovsky shares his opinion about the future of striker Artem Dovbik after signing a new contract with Dnepr-1.
Artem Dovbik officially extended his contract with Dnepr-1 until June 2025. Earlier, many European clubs were actively interested in the Ukrainian striker, whose previous contract expired at the end of this year.
The authoritative sports journalist, Mikhail Spivakovsky believes that the signing of the new agreement is a preparation for the imminent transfer of the footballer.
“A case where a new contract means the player is likely to leave! And ideally, he would go now,” said Spivakovsky.
The source explained why Dnepr-1 signed a new agreement with Dovbik.
“Artem was led by many European clubs, his statistics last season worked for this interest. However, old contracts drastically reduce the cost of players.
No team will offer a reasonable price for a player who can be signed as early as July 1 and taken for free in the winter,” Spivakovsky wrote.

Spivakovsky believes that Dovbik can leave Dnipro-1 for a small amount if he does not sign a new contract with the club.
“If Dnipro-1 does not extend the contract with Dovbik, then at best it will go like Dynamo and Tsygankov. Now the price tag will be more sufficient, and small and medium farmers who want to grab a scorer of three to five million euros will simply drop out, ” said Spivakovsky.
Remember that Dynamo sold Viktor Tsygankov to Spain’s Girona in the winter transfer window for five million euros.

Mikhail stated that Dnipro-1 will be obliged to pay part of the amount received from the transfer of Dovbik to his previous club, Danish Midtjylland.
“Remember that everything Dnepr-1 receives over 450 thousand euros will be divided equally with Midtjylland Denmark. That is why the cost of players should be increased to the maximum,” wrote Spivakovsky in the TaToTake telegram channel.
Spivakovsky also said that Dovbik signed a contract with Dnipro-1 to thank the club, which helped him restart his career after a severe knee ligament injury.
