Football expert and coach Oleg Fedorchuk has criticized Shakhtar defender Yefim Konoplya for allegedly sabotaging his participation in the match between the national team of Ukraine and England at Euro 2024. According to Fedorchuk, Konoplya had requested to be excluded from the team due to health problems, but a few days later played for Shakhtar in a match against Rukh. The defender’s claims of being injured were defended by Shakhtar head coach Igor Jovicevich, but Fedorchuk believes that the player was simply afraid to play against the British. Konoplya has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

On the eve of the match between the national team of Ukraine and England (0:2), Yefim Konoplya appealed to the acting head coach of our national team with a request to exclude him from the application for this fight due to health problems. Then Shakhtar head coach Igor Jovicevich defended his footballer, who insisted on the defender’s injury. But these arguments did not convince Oleg Fedorchuk, according to experts, Yefim was just afraid to play against the British.
“Marijuana doesn’t convince me, it’s a bit grumbling. I don’t like him refusing to play for the national team. I thought he was just swimming and scared to play against England.
