The Israeli youth team (U-21) has advanced to the semifinals of Euro 2023 after defeating their peers from Georgia in the quarterfinals. The match, which took place on July 1 in Tbilisi, ended in a 0-0 draw and was decided by penalties, with Israel winning 4-3. The Georgian team had Dinamo midfielder Giorgi Tsitaishvili and Shakhtar defender Giorgi Gocholeishvili in their starting lineup. The Israeli team had the first scoring chance in the fifth minute, but the match remained goalless throughout regular and extra time. Israel will now face the winner of the England-Portugal pair in the semifinals.

The first scoring chance was created by Israel. In the fifth minute of the match, forward Dor Turgeman, after an individual pass, went one-on-one with Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, but shot wide of the goal.
In the middle of the first half, Gocholeishvili hit the corner near the opposition goal with a powerful shot, but the goal was disallowed because the ball left the field during the attack.
