Shakhtar defender Giorgi Gocholeishvili has received a call-up to both the national and youth teams of Georgia. The 22-year-old footballer will have a busy schedule of international matches ahead of him, including two away matches in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and Scotland. Gocholeishvili has also joined the Georgian youth team for the 2023 European Championship, where they will face Portugal, Belgium, and the Netherlands in Group A. Since joining Shakhtar from Saburtalo in the winter transfer window, Gocholeishvili has played 13 games for the team and scored one goal.

The Georgian national team in the Euro 2024 qualifiers will play two away matches: on June 17, Willy Sagnol’s ward will play in Larnaca with the Cyprus national team, and on June 20 they will meet in Glasgow with Scotland, Shakhtar website reports.

Gocholeishvili also joined the Georgian youth team’s bid for the 2023 European Championship at home. Georgian players will play in Group A with Portugal (June 21), Belgium (June 24) and the Netherlands (June 27).
- Gocholeishvili made his debut for the Georgian national team on 17 November 2022 and played three matches for it. The Pitmen defender also has seven games and one goal for the Georgia U-21 national team.
- The 22-year-old Gocholeishvili moved to Shakhtar from Saburtalo in the winter transfer window and played 13 games for the Pitmen, scoring one goal.
