Dynamo Kiev legend, Viktor Leonenko, has questioned the decision not to disclose the salary of new Ukrainian national team coach, Sergei Rebrov, and his staff. Speaking in a podcast, Leonenko argued that transparency was important since the team is funded by taxpayers’ money. He added that he did not want to count other people’s money, but that he expected the team’s performance to match their salary. Rebrov signed a three-year contract with the Ukrainian Football Association last week.
Dynamo legend Viktor Leonenko was not happy with the fact that during the presentation of Sergei Rebrov as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, his salary was not named.
Viktor Leonenko believes that the public has the right to know about the salary of Sergei Rebrov and his coaching staff in the national team of Ukraine. Because it exists on taxpayers’ money.
“Do we have a public or private team? I don’t care what contract they have, but people need to know. Because if five hryvnia, then it is clear that there will be discounts from fans. And if there are five million, then there will be questions.

The expert emphasized that he does not want to count other people’s money, but expects the work of Rebrov and his staff to match their salary.
“Guys, if this is a national team, we might need to know about contracts or again secrets, as always. Let them get at least a billion, they just have to comply.”
Leonenko sees no problem in making such nuances open to the public. At the same time, he has no personal claims against Rebrov.
“They hire coaches – contracts for so much, how much, why, why. Explain everything to people. What does Rebrov have to do with it? Everything just needs to be correct and professional, and not physical culture. Moreover, this is the national team,” Leonenko said in a podcast on his Telegram channel.
It should be noted that on Wednesday, June 7, Sergei Rebrov was officially appointed as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team. The specialist signed a contract with UAF for three years.
