Ukraine’s head coach, Serhiy Rebrov, has commented on the possibility of sending some first-team players to participate in the finals of Euro 2023 with the youth team. Although several first-team players, including Sudakov, Trubin, Vanat, and Mudrik, could help the youth team due to their age, Rebrov has not made a final decision. He emphasized that the national team takes precedence over the youth team. Ukraine’s national team will face North Macedonia and Malta in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, while the youth team will play in the Euro 2023 finals against Croatia, Romania, and Spain.

The head coach of the Ukrainian national team Serhiy Rebrov spoke about the possibility of sending some first team players to the youth team to participate in the finals of Euro 2023.

Today, UAF introduced Serhiy Rebrov as the head coach of our country’s first team, with whom the Ukrainian national team will fight for access to Euro 2024.

Almost immediately after the match of the national team of Ukraine in the framework of the selection for Euro 2024, our youth team started in the final part of Euro 2023.

A number of first team players, due to their age, can help the youth team in the final part of Euro 2023 (Sudakov, Trubin, Vanat, Mudrik), but Sergei Rebrov has not made a final decision on this issue.

“I spoke to Rotan about the players who will go to the youth team. First, you need to understand which team is in prerogative and more important. I thought it was the national team.

If someone thinks that any player can play with Malta, then we already lost to them in 2017. I think we should focus on the national team. The youth team starts the camp on June 21, so after our match on the 19th, we will decide everything,” said Rebrov during the press conference.

We are talking about the friendly match Ukraine – Malta (0:1), which took place on June 6, 2017.

  • Ukraine’s national team will play Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Malta on June 16 and 19.
  • Ukraine’s youth team will play in the Euro 2023 final against Croatia, Romania and Spain. The first match of Ruslan Rotan’s ward will take place on June 21.
