Ingulets President Alexander Povoroznyuk has spoken out about the recent dismissal of head coach Sergei Kovalets and assistant coach Mladen Bartulovich. Povoroznyuk explained on his YouTube channel that Kovalets was fired due to the club’s inability to avoid the transition match, while Bartulovich initiated his own firing, which Povoroznyuk referred to as a “very dishonest act.” Ingulets is currently 14th in the Ukrainian Premier League standings and will play in the play-off for a place in the elite division with Cherkasy LNZ. The matches will take place on June 10 and 14.
Ingulets president Alexander Povoroznyuk commented on the completion of cooperation with head coach Sergei Kovalets and assistant Mladen Bartulovich.
Povoroznyuk explained on his YouTube channel that Kovalets was fired because Ingulets could not avoid the transition match, and in the story with Bartulovich, the initiative came from the Croat.
“Bartulovich came himself and asked him to be fired. I think it’s like the first rat to escape from a sinking ship. This is a very dishonest act. He wants to see a great coaching future there, but this is not the right fighter. It’s a pity, but I was wrong about Bartulovich,” added Povoroznyuk.

Bartulovich, after the sacking of Kowalets, hoped he would be trusted to lead the team into a transition game to defend against LNZ.
“He did not explain his decision. He thought I would wipe his tears. And he said that he would go with Kovalets. I asked: “Why?”. He replied: “Because you did not appoint me, but Lupashko.” Do I need to report to someone about my appointment? You finish the championship, and then say so and so,” said Povoroznyuk.
- The 36-year-old Bartulovich is a member of the Ingulets coaching staff and is an assistant to Sergei Lavrinenko (from 2020 to 2022) and Sergei Kovalets (2023).
- In November last year, Mladen acted as the head coach of the Petrovsky team and played three matches in this status, where Inhulets won two victories.
- Inhulets are 14th in the Ukrainian Premier League standings and will play in the play-off for a place in the elite division with Cherkasy LNZ. The matches will take place on June 10 and 14.
