French striker Karim Benzema has signed a two-year agreement with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. The deal includes the option of a further one-year extension and according to the club’s official website, the 35-year-old will receive a staggering €200m in salary, potentially earning €600m over the course of the contract. Benzema spent 14 years at Real Madrid, scoring 353 goals and providing 165 assists in 647 appearances. The five-time Champions League winner, who is the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, becomes the latest high-profile player to move to the Saudi Professional League, following Cristiano Ronaldo who signed for Al-Nasr earlier this month.

According to AFP, Benzema will receive a salary of 200 million euros. Therefore, in three years he will earn 600 million euros.

Remember that Cristiano Ronaldo also receives 200 million euros a year from Al-Nasr.
