Zorya’s midfielder Dmitry Mishnev appeared in a match in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) despite not being in the application for the game. The appearance of Mishnev during the match against Minai, which Zorya won 3-0, led to speculation, but Zorya’s Head, Igor Guz, clarified that it was due to a “senseless accident” caused by a club employee responsible for filling out the protocol, who lost Mishnev’s last name when sending the document to UPL. Mishnev’s appearance could lead to a ban or technical defeat for Zorya, but Guz is ready to accept any punishment. Mishnev has participated in 29 games this season, scoring three goals and making three assists.

Head of Zorya Igor Guz commented on the situation with the appearance of midfielder Dmitry Mishnev on the field in the match of the 30th round of the Ukrainian Premier League with Minai (3:0).

In the match between Zorya and Minai, a curious situation occurred – Dmitry Mishnev entered as a substitute, although he was not in the application for this fight. Soon after, he appeared in the match report on the UPL website.

But Igor Guz confirmed that Mishnev was not in the application for the game because of the human factor.

“What happened was a senseless accident, a technical incident. An employee of our club who was responsible for filling out the protocol in electronic form, when sending it to UPL, lost his last name Mishnev.

Then, with the appearance of the players on the field, the fourth referee, checking the player’s number stub, did not check the protocol. This is a purely human factor: the season is very tense, not only for the coach and the players. I can’t explain it any other way.”

The head of Zorya assured that the Lugansk club is ready to accept any punishment from the football authorities, because you have to pay for mistakes.

“We have been in third place three times and dream of the Champions League for our fans. Can you imagine how ridiculous it would be to lose this dream because of a childish mistake?! I also want to note that Mishnev entered the field when Dnipro-1 was already in the lead.

Frankly, from our side, such a combination would seem very stupid. Now we are ready for any decision of the football authorities. You have to pay for mistakes,” said Guz in an interview with TaToTake.

  • Now Zara faces a ban from the UAF, up to a technical defeat, but it will not affect the position of the Luhansk club.
  • Mishnev has participated in 29 games this season, scoring three goals and making the same number of assists.
