Dynamo Kyiv bid farewell to their goalkeeper Denis Boyko as he played his final game for the club in a match against Metalist 1925. The 35-year-old goalkeeper has been a graduate of Dynamo and has played for the club regularly on loan until 2014, before returning in 2018. Boyko has made 108 appearances for the club, conceding 97 goals and keeping 51 clean sheets. He will now move on to play as the main goalkeeper for Polesie from the new season. Boyko had previously played in the Europa League final against Sevilla as a Dnipro player.
Dynamo’s 35-year-old goalkeeper Denis Boyko played his last game in the Kyiv club, which fell in the match of the 30th round of the Ukrainian Premier League with Metalist 1925 (1:1).
Denis Boyko in today’s match with Metalist 1925 came out for the last two minutes, replaced Georgy Bushchan and received the captain’s armband. As it turned out later, such a gesture was made in honor of the last appearance of the goalkeeper in the Kyiv club.
“The match of the 30th round of the VBET League against Metalist 1925 was the last as a Dynamo player for goalkeeper Denis Boyko. We thank Denis for the years spent with Dynamo, we appreciate the goalkeeper’s contribution to the success of the team and wish him success in his future career,” reads a message on Dynamo’s official website.
