Ruslan Malinovskyi played 80 minutes of the game but failed to score, continuing his drought of 15 consecutive Ligue 1 games without a goal. The loss also marked the last game for Igor Tudor as head coach of Marseille. Ajaccio had beaten Marseille 2-1 in their first meeting earlier in the season. The first dangerous moment in this match was created by an Ajaccio player in the 32nd minute. Ben Toure received a broken pass and could have worsened his team’s play, but Marseille’s defense played with confidence and turned the ball into a corner.
In the 41st minute, Ruslan Malinovskiy took a shot at Ajaccio’s goal, the Ukrainian tried to penetrate the home team’s goal with a long-range shot, as a result of which the ball went over the crossbar.

In the 88th minute, Clement Vidal managed to put Ajaccio in front, penetrating the bottom left corner of Marseille’s goal. The referee’s final whistle sets the home team’s minimum win.
