Ukrainian football legend Evgeniy Seleznev is set to play his farewell match on June 6th at the Avangard stadium in the city of Uzhgorod. Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko urged fans to attend the match and celebrate “real football,” while also highlighting the charitable purpose behind the event, with funds collected being directed towards the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Seleznev, who played for various clubs including Shakhtar, Dnipro, and Kiev Arsenal, is the second highest scorer in the history of Ukraine’s top division, with 117 goals. Many Ukrainian football stars have been invited to take part in the farewell match.

“Friends, Ukrainian football legend Yevhen Seleznev is ending his career. On June 6 at 17:00 at the Avangard stadium in the city of Uzhgorod, he will play his last match.
Zinchenko also emphasized the charitable purpose that this event will serve.
“The funds collected will be channeled to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Entry for fans is free, so let’s celebrate real football. Glory to Ukraine,” said Zinchenko.

It should be noted that, in addition to Zinchenko, many Ukrainian football stars were invited to take part in Seleznev’s farewell match.
- Seleznev is a pupil of Shakhtar. He played for the Pitmen’s first team from 2008 to 2009, from 2011 to 2012 and from 2016 to 2017. (74 matches, 30 goals).
- The striker’s greatest success is associated with Dnipro, the colors he defended in the period from 2009 to 2011 and from 2012 to 2016. (192 matches, 88 goals).
Also, 37-year-old Seleznev played for:

- Minay (2021-2022, 17 games, goals).
In addition, he had 57 fights and 11 accurate shots in the T-shirt of the national team of Ukraine (2008-2018). Seleznev is also the second scorer in the history of the country’s top division, second only to Maxim Shatskikh (117 vs. 124).
