Former Milan midfielder Kaka has thanked his former teammates for their collective efforts during his Ballon d’Or-winning season in 2007. However, he failed to mention former partner Andriy Shevchenko, with whom he played alongside for Milan between 2003 and 2006, and again from 2008 to 2009. The duo played 128 matches together, scoring 23 goals from each other’s passes. Kaka played for Milan from 2003 to 2009, making 304 appearances and scoring 104 goals while making 84 assists.
Milan legend Kaka looks back on his wonderful career at Italy’s big tournament. The former midfielder thanked his former partner for that time, but for some reason forgot about Andriy Shevchenko.
Kaka, who won the Ballon d’Or with Milan in 2007, admits that without a key partner, he would not have been able to achieve such great recognition.

“I won the individual award because I was the protagonist in the collective achievement. I have to thank my teammates, goalkeeper Dida, all the defenders and everyone who participated in this success. I don’t see how I can win an individual award without teamwork.”
The former footballer recalls with nostalgia the great Milan team and his fellow stars.
“The team is amazing. It’s amazing. Dida, Cafu, Alessandro Nesta, Paolo Maldini, Marek Jankulovski and on the right is Massimo Oddo. Then Andrea Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso, Massimo Ambrosini, Clarence Seedorf, myself and Filippo Inzaghi,” Kaka told 90min.
It is worth noting that Kaka does not remember the Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko, with whom they defended the colors of Milan from 2003 to 2006, and also from 2008 to 2009. Together they played 128 matches on the field and scored 23 goals from each other’s passes.
