Former Dynamo midfielder Che Che missed a crucial penalty in a shootout against Atlético Paranaense in the second leg of the Brazil Cup 1/8 finals. The 30-year-old, who now plays for Botafogo, failed to score, leading to his team’s exit from the tournament. Che Che played for Dynamo during the 2018/19 season before joining Palmeiras for €4.8m. Six months later, he was sold for €5m to Sao Paulo. In total, he played 16 games for the Ukrainian side, scoring one assist. This season, he has made 16 appearances for Botafogo, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Former Dinamo midfielder Che Che, who now plays for Botafogo, missed a penalty in the series after the match against Atlético Paranaense in the second leg of the Brazil Cup 1/8 finals. The former Dynamo team left the tournament (2:3, 1:0, on pen. 2:4).


On Thursday, June 1, Botafogo host Atlético Paranaense at home in the second leg of the Copa Brazil round of 16 after a 2-3 away defeat.

The home team was able to equalize the score on aggregate, winning 1:0. In the penalty shootout, it should be decided who will go further.

The 30-year-old midfielder, Che Che, who was on the field from the first minute, finished second. The Brazilian shot into the left corner, but the Atlético goalkeeper parried the shot. The penalty kick decision ended 2-4 in favor of the guests.

After the match, the Brazilian did not apologize for his mistake, but thanked the fans by posting on his personal Instagram profile.

“The fans put on a good party! Unfortunately, we didn’t go further in the tournament, but it’s a pride to wear such colors, it’s an honor! I’m not here to apologize for the missed shot, because I gave it my all,” Che Che wrote.

  • Remember that Che Che played for Dynamo in the 2018/19 season. At the start of the campaign, he joined the team from Palmeiras for 4.8 million euros. Six months later, the footballer was sold for five million euros in Sao Paulo;
