Former head coach of Karpaty, Mariupol and several other UPL clubs Oleksandr Sevydov considers Dynamo coach Mircea Lucescu the best expert in recent Ukrainian history.
Alexander Sevidov analyzes the situation that arose around the position of Dynamo’s head coach. Mircea Lucescu arrived on sick leave, and the Kiev residents, with Oleksandr Shovkovskiy as acting coach, won their third consecutive victory in the UPL. This time over Kryvbas (1:0).
“There is no way that something can change, and Shovkovsky himself confirmed this. However, he was the one standing on the sidelines. Imagine Dynamo winning all the games with Shovkovsky. What will the Surkis brothers do? Might have to leave it. I don’t want to judge this decision.”

According to the expert, if the Dynamo management still decides to leave Shovkovskiy at the helm of the team, it is not clear how the situation with Lucescu will be resolved. After all, he has a valid contract with the club and has yet to announce his intention to leave the club.
“Only Lucescu will decide when to end his career. Sooner or later it will happen, and he will retire from football. In my opinion, this is the most successful coach from independent Ukraine. All his achievements speak for themselves,” said Sevidov in the Tricks and Tackles program.
- Remember that Lucescu started his coaching career in Ukraine with Shakhtar. He worked there from 2004 to 2016. and won 22 trophies.
- The Romanian specialist took over Dynamo in 2020 and managed to win three titles with him. The 77-year-old specialist’s contract with the club runs until June 30, 2024.
