Former UEFA president Michel Platini has criticized the current leadership of European and world football for the lack of quality reforms.

Michel Platini is not satisfied with the course of football development chosen by the current leaders of UEFA (Alexander Čeferin) and FIFA (Gianni Infantino).

“We need to hold UEFA’s senior leadership accountable. Some financial fair play is coming, but UEFA president Čeferin is having a hard time enforcing it. Actually both Čeferin and FIFA president Infantino, they are people who just stick to their place.

The former UEFA chief also pointed out the fact that the current leadership of the organization only cares about selfish motives and they only care about financial gain, rather than the development of football.

“I play football, play their politics. There is no change in their program except play more games and earn more money. They also do not respect the competition that has been recorded in the history of football. The person who replaced me knows nothing about football, ”Calcio e Finanza quoted Platini, referring to La Stampa.

Platini headed UEFA from 2007 to 2015. Note that the Frenchman received a five-year ban from football for alleged corruption. Michel’s main achievement as head of European football was the reform of the UEFA Cup into the Europa League.
