De Laurentiis took a two-plus-one option on Spalletti’s contract.
Remember that on May 4, Napoli secured the third league title in the club’s history ahead of schedule. Before that, the Neapolitans won the Scudetto in the 1986/87/1989/90 seasons, which remained at the club of Argentinian legend Diego Maradona.
