Dnipro-1 midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, who celebrated his birthday today, shared his thoughts on his team’s hard-fought victory in the away match of the 25th round of the Premier League against Odessa Chernomorets (2:1).

Dnepryan midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, who turns 26 today, summed up the tough match in an interview with the club’s YouTube channel.
“For me, this is a double celebration. Thanks to the team for giving such an important victory. We played a very good match today. It was very difficult, because the opponent hardly created anything. And they scored after a typical release from their door.
It was great because we managed to score early and equalize, and then put a shot on the opponent,” Pikhalenok said.
Pikhalyonok was also happy that Shakhtar, who fought against Dnipro-1 for the championship title, lost a point in Alexandria (1:1).
“A nice gift from Alexandria. But now there will be a very important match with the same Alexandria and you have to win it to fight for first place,” Pikhalenok added.
The 26-year-old Pikhalyonok has played 34 games in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and making 12 assists.
Dnipro-1 has played 24 matches, scored 57 points and is second in the UPL standings, three points behind leaders Shakhtar with a game in hand for the Dnipro team.
A replay of the UPL first round match Dnipro-1 – Oleksandriya, which was interrupted in November due to an air strike in the tenth minute, will be held at the Avangard stadium in Uzhhorod on Thursday, May 11.
